The Walking Dead behind the scenes

Have you ever wondered if the set of The Walking Dead is as depressing, brutal and dark as the show appears to be?

One might think that being surrounded by flesh-eating zombies all day, and having to act out scenes which often involve the brutal and bloody on-screen deaths of dear co-stars, would lead to a rather depressing work environment.

However, as the following images suggest, it seems that the joke is on us since the crew apparently have a lot of fun shooting the show that leaves the rest of us in shock and despair!

Loosing a leg doesn’t seem that bad after all.

Norman Reedus (Daryl) does not seem that concerned about handling a severed head, neither does Scott Wilson (Hershel) about loosing his leg.

What about those zombies? Does everyone just get along?

During breaks the zombie cast and the human cast eat separately (wonder why?), but besides that it seems that everyone is getting along and having a blast between takes.
